A welcome from LUCC
The Leicester University Chamber Choir aims to offer an exciting and challenging opportunity to talented singers that have already had some previous singing experience. We perform both sacred and non sacred pieces with repertoire including lesser known, rarely performed chamber works. Over the course of the year the choir performs in at least two high profile concerts, along with some other smaller events. Welcome to our webpage!

The LUCC Committee would like to thank all who attended the Evensong at Birmingham Cathedral. It was a successful event and we thank the Cathedral for giving us the opportunity to sing.
We would also like to thank Mark Batten for all the hard work and dedication he has put into the choir for the past two years. The Evensong was a brilliant last event with Mark as Musical Director of the Leicester University Chamber Choir.

Due to the high level of competition for the year 2008-2009 the LUCC unfortunately did not win an award at the Student’s Union Award Ceremony on the 19th June 2009.
However, it was enough to be nominated given that we beat a huge amount of strong competition to become one of 5 nominees in each of the categories we were nominated in.

On behalf of the choir I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mark Batten for all his hard work over the past two years. Mark has decided that it is time to move on from the choir and we wish him all the best for the future.
For the past two years Mark has dedicated many hours to the choir getting the best quality of sound he possibly can. I am sure everyone will agree that he has done a wonderful job and hopefully we will have an opportunity to work together again in the near future.
Thank you Mark once again for all your hard work and dedication.
